This website lists helplines in and around Glasgow which deals with a number of topics. They can offer advice and sometimes practical help. There are other excellent helplines but we have tried to list one or two numbers on a wide range of subjects rather than get bogged down in a lot of services which only cover a few. This website is accompanied by a number which you can call if you do not have WiFi or internet access. The number is 0871 XXX XXXX. Calls cost XXp per minute plus your carrier's charge. You will hear a recorded list of helpline numbers and can hang up after you have noted down the number you need. You do not have to listen to the whole recorded message. If you have internet access you can get the same information (in fact more) on this website for free.

SCOTTISH WOMEN'S AID - NATIONAL DOMESTIC ABUSE & FORCED MARRIAGE HELPLINE - 0800 027 1234
Helpline providing free and confidential information and support on domestic abuse and forced marriage. The Helpline Team can also provide emotional support, direct callers to Agencies that may be able to help, offer crisis intervention in emergency situations, provide practical solutions on a range of things including safety and planning. The Helpline works in partnership with domestic abuse charity, Respect, who provide a service for male survivors of domestic abuse. For those worried about the behaviour of partners or ex-partners, or concerned about someone else, please call the helpline on 0800 027 1234. Callers in immediate danger should contact the police by dialling 101, or 999 in an emergency. We have a public access office in the city centre. This service is a drop in service so you do not need to make an appointment. We are open Monday to Friday 9.30 - 4.30. You can come in or telephone to speak to a worker. Workers will listen to you and support you to make the decisions that are right for you and your children (if you have any). Helpline and support services available to any man experiencing domestic abuse within Scotland. Also welcome calls from friends/family who may be concerned about a loved one. Can support any man (including trans-gender and non-binary people), whether in a mixed-sex or same-sex relationship. Trauma Counselling Line Scotland (TCLS) offers confidential telephone counselling to any adult who experienced abuse as a child. This can include sexual, emotional, physical, psychological, spiritual abuse or neglect. The counselling team are fully trained in this area and both male and female counsellors are available from a range of ethnic backgrounds. Helpline and email support service providing initial and crisis support for survivors of any form of sexual violence aged 13 and over. Provides upport to female, male and transgender survivors, as well as family, friends and workers. Has information on a range of related topics and will signpost and refer to local services. (Turning Point Scotland) The Glasgow Drug Crisis Centre offers a safe, confidential service which will support and encourage people to find ways of making their substance misuse less problematic and to achieve a better quality of life. Everyone who comes to the Glasgow Drug Crisis Centre can have an initial assessment of their circumstances completed and a personalised care plan drawn up. Individuals can also obtain advice about other community based organisations which can provide longer term care to suit their needs. The helpline provides a range of general disability related information to disabled people, carers, professionals, disability organisations and anyone with an interest in disability issues. The dementia helpline is a freephone 24 hour service providing information and emotional support to people with dementia, carers, relatives, friends and professionals. The National Prisoners’ Families Helpline can support you if a family member is in contact with the criminal justice system. The Team can provide support and information on all aspects from what happens on arrest, visiting a prison to preparing for release. The website has information about what to expect if a member of your family is arrested and what it means if they are charged, how bail works and their rights in custody. You can also find support on what to expect if your family member has to go to Court, including how to find out which court they will go to, what to expect at court as well as what happens when someone is remanded in custody.
